PROJECTS
Custom LED Panels of any shape. Generated Python script to automatically route the PCB.
A backpack accented with Laser Wire - a type of fiber optic that is way more awesome than traditional electroluminescent wire. Because lasers.
A custom LEGO model of the Parker Solar Probe, capturing every detail possible.
A twisting, complex web of interconnected pipes, custom designed to fill in the empty space around the TV in my high ceilinged living room.
A dimmable HomeKit controlled hanging lamp. Built from spare parts from an old rocket project.
A mount to hang a large lab power supply under my glass desk.
In August of 2019 I moved from Seattle to Oakland for my new job. I got a sweet live/work loft apartment and the front room was perfect for me to set up my workshop.
SOL BURST is an art piece whose mesmerizing patterns spiral around tubes that reach a diameter of 7 ft. With over 1,000 LEDs, high-powered electronics provide up to 350W of intense brightness. Highly configurable color palettes can be set up using an IR remote and a number of animations can be selected and customized.
Built to overcome some of the problems with V1, this new version of SOL CRUSHER is lighter weight, has an integrated battery, and 120 more LEDs for a total of 720 (inside and out). Designed to be more modular, it is still undergoing improvements and will just keep getting better!
SOL CRUSHER was a totem inspired by the thought of "how many LEDs can I reasonably put on a totem?" Containing 540 LEDs and powered by a giant 6S lipo battery, it traveled to EDC 2016, Paradiso 2016, and Shambhala 2016.
