I came across this awesome stuff called Laser Wire. It uses a special type of fiber optic that has nanoscale imperfections such that instead of trapping the light within the wire, it smoothly diffuses the light along it’s length. It’s sort of similar to EL wire, but is far more vibrant and bright! Photos really don’t do it justice!
I hand stitched 5m of wire to my backpack, put a laser at each end, and added a simple controller to create fade effects. My partner also added her own design to her backpack.
